About Fisherfield
'Fisherfield' is the historic name for the community of traditional fishermen’s cottages established along the shoreline around Portree Bay. The cottages have now largely disappeared, but the Nicolson’s family home has been renovated and extended to provide a luxury home from home for our visiting guests.
The house has one of the most spectacular outlooks in Skye, situated overlooking Portree Bay, with views across to Ben Tianavaig, and beyond to the island of Raasay. Located approximately one mile from Portree Village centre, the house was the original Nicolson home built some seventy years ago of imported red brick.
Fisherfield has been extended and undergone complete refurbishment resulting in a luxurious interior with many of the old features having been retained. Plaster cornice, oak staircase and hardwood kitchen floor are some of the quality finishes used to renovate Fisherfield to the standard expected by our discerning guests.
